General Terms and Conditions Jakob’s Lodge

1. Guest Check-In and Check-Out

Check-in is possible between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM on the day of arrival or later by prior arrangement. Check-out must be completed by 11:00 AM on the day of departure. Early check-in and late check-out are available by prior notice and for an additional fee. The minimum age for independent check-in is 18 years. The hotel reserves the right to deny entry or remove a guest from the premises if staff reasonably determine that the guest is under the influence of illegal substances, improperly dressed, not complying with laws or regulations, or behaving violently, threateningly or inappropriately. In such cases, we reserve the right to contact security or the police, cancel the reservation and retain the full payment.

2. Pets

Pets are not allowed at Jakob’s Lodge.
If a guest brings an animal into the accommodation, we reserve the right to cancel the reservation immediately without a refund. Additionally, a cleaning fee of at least €300 will be charged, along with any damage based on actual costs.

3. Smoking and Cleanliness

Smoking inside the building is prohibited by law and is discouraged outside in areas where it could disturb other guests (e.g., under balconies, near private terraces, near air intake systems). Smoking is only allowed in designated areas where ashtrays are provided by staff.
The use of incense, scented oils or food preparation in rooms is strictly prohibited.
In the event of a violation, a deep cleaning fee of at least 400€ will be charged.
Significant stains or damage to furnishings or inventory will incur a minimum charge of 450€ or more, based on actual damage.

4. House Rules

• Rooms are intended for two adult guests. Suites can accommodate up to four guests. Children aged 0–6 stay for free; children 6–13 are charged 25 € per night; persons over 13 are charged 50 € per night.
  • Only registered guests with valid identification documents may use the accommodation. Failure to register will incur a charge of 300 € and cancellation without refund.
  • Children under 14 must not be left unattended.
  • Visitors are allowed only by prior arrangement; overnight stays by non-registered persons are not permitted.
  • Guests must maintain peace and quiet within the facility and surrounding area. Parents are responsible for supervising children and covering any damages they may cause.
  • Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Violations may result in warnings, police intervention, reservation cancellation and retention of full payment.
  • Outside food and beverages are not allowed on the premises.
  • Any physical or verbal violence toward staff or guests will be reported to the police and security.
  Offenders will have their reservations canceled, full payment withheld and will be removed from the property.
  • Weapons are strictly prohibited on or around the premises. Authorized security personnel must store weapons in the hotel safe and notify management in advance.

5. Reservations

Reservations can be made via phone, e-mail, or the website: jakobs lodge.com. A reservation is confirmed only after successful payment via card or bank transfer. By confirming a reservation, you agree to these terms and conditions. They apply to all bookings, regardless of platform, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

6. Cancellation Policy

Jakob’s Lodge reserves the right to cancel a reservation in exceptional circumstances (force majeure, etc.). In such cases, only paid amounts will be refunded—no additional compensation. Cancellations must be confirmed by Jakob’s Lodge with a cancellation number or written confirmation. For direct bookings (website, email, phone):

• Free cancellation up to 90 days before arrival
• 50% charge for cancellations between 90 and 30 days before arrival
• 100% charge for cancellations within 30 days of arrival, no-shows, or early departures without notice

7. Prepayment

The full amount must be paid at the time of booking. The reservation becomes valid only upon payment.

8. Guarantee

A valid credit card is required for incidental charges and will be charged at check-in. Jakob’s Lodge reserves the right to charge the guest’s credit card for unpaid or unknown charges at the time of departure. This includes: late check-out or early departure, unpaid services, damage or stolen property. Damages may include physical, non-material, intellectual property damage and fraudulent claims.

9. Required Documents

Upon arrival, a valid photo ID (passport or national ID card) and a credit card with sufficient funds are required.
If a guest refuses to provide a card, they may prepay the full amount via bank transfer or pay in cash and provide a refundable deposit of at least 500€ per room.

10. Guest Property Loss or Damage

Jakob’s Lodge is not liable for loss or damage to guest property or personal injury.
Guests must cooperate with authorities in the event of police involvement.

11. Reporting Malfunctions

Guests must immediately report any issues in the room or on the property that affect normal use. Later complaints will not be considered.

12. Room and Suite Access

Staff and maintenance personnel reserve the right to enter rooms or suites without prior notice for urgent repairs or inspections.

13. Parking

Parking is free and at the guest’s own risk. We are not liable for theft or damage to vehicles.

14. Payment

Payment can be made in cash, by card or by bank transfer before arrival. Early departures are nonrefundable. We accept:

• Credit cards: Mastercard, Visa
• Debit cards: Maestro
• American Express is not accepted.

15. Prices

Prices are in euros (€) and include VAT unless stated otherwise. Refunds, where applicable, are processed within 45 days, or 120 days in force majeure situations.

16. Tourist Tax

Tourist tax is not included in the room price and is charged separately at check-in based on the current official rate.

17. Card Authorization and Damage Policy

Guests are responsible for any damage beyond normal wear and tear.

• Major stains: at least 500€
• Damages: actual costs + 30% administrative fee
• Lost or stolen items (towels, robes, hairdryers, keys, etc.): charged at replacement cost
• If damage prevents continued room use, an independent appraiser will be hired at the guest’s expense.
• All charges may be processed after check-out. Jakob’s Lodge may obtain payment information from third-party platforms (Booking, Airbnb, etc.).

18. Video Surveillance

Jakob’s Lodge, operated by JAKOB’S CENTER d.o.o. PE Pokljuka, uses video surveillance for:

• Ensuring safety of people and property
• Preventing, managing, or detecting criminal offenses or violations
• Monitoring access to business premises and protected areas

The legal basis for surveillance is the controller’s legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR and Articles 76 and 77 of the Slovenian ZVOP-2.

Scope of Surveillance

Cameras are located:

• At entrances and external access points
• In shared hallways and access points
• In storage or high-value areas

Surveillance is not conducted in areas with high expectations of privacy (e.g., restrooms, changing rooms).

Notice to Individuals

Areas under surveillance are clearly marked with signs containing:

• Notice of surveillance
• Contact details of the controller
• Basic purpose of recording

Data Retention

Footage is stored for up to 30 days unless needed for investigation of a crime, damage, or misconduct—in such cases, it is kept until the conclusion of the proceedings.
Access is restricted to authorized personnel.
External maintenance providers must have a data processing agreement in place.

19. Miscellaneous

• Commercial activities (e.g., photography, filming) are not allowed without permission.
• Candles, torches, etc., are prohibited.
• Drone use is not permitted.
• Laundry is not allowed.
• Violation of these terms may result in immediate cancellation without refund.

20. Special Offer Terms

• For tailor-made reservations, exclusive buyouts or individually prepared offers, the payment and cancellation conditions stated in the specific offer, confirmation or contract may differ from those outlined in these General Terms & Conditions.
• In such cases, the terms and conditions specified in the individual offer, confirmation or agreement shall prevail and take precedence over the General Terms & Conditions.

21. Governing Law

These terms are governed by Slovenian law.
The parties agree that disputes will be resolved by Slovenian courts, specifically the competent court in Radovljica. Court proceedings will commence only after all other resolution options have been exhausted.
In matters not covered by these terms, hospitality and tourism customs apply.
